Asking someone about a task
Press and hold a task, or use its ⋯ menu, then pick who to ask.
You can ask about any task in your household, from wherever you see it.
- Press and hold the task’s row, or open the task and tap ⋯ in the top right
- Tap Request from…
- Choose one or more household members, and confirm
Each person you pick gets their own separate request. They’re notified once, if they have request notifications on.
A few things the system does quietly:
- Asking the same person about the same task again reuses the request that’s already pending, rather than sending a second one — so nobody gets pinged twice
- You can’t request a task from yourself
- Request from… is unavailable when there’s nobody left to ask
- An archived task can’t be requested until it’s restored
Tip
If a task keeps needing to be asked about, it may be worth changing who it applies to instead.
