The Requests screen
For me and Sent, what each status means, and how requests are declined, cancelled, fulfilled, or expire.
The Requests screen is reached from the requests button at the top of the Tasks tab, beside the Start here pill. The button appears only when you have requests in either direction, and the number on it counts requests waiting on you — never ones you’ve sent.
Two views, chosen at the top: For me — requests other people have sent you, which is where the screen opens — and Sent, the ones you’ve sent. Each view shows Current requests, with resolved ones tucked into History below.
Rows here are ordinary task rows, so you can work from this screen directly: tap the circle to start a task and again to complete it, or tap the title to open the task.
To resolve a request, press and hold its row:
- In For me, Decline request — the task itself is untouched
- In Sent, Cancel request — withdraws an ask you haven’t had an answer to
A request ends up in one of five states:
- Pending — waiting
- Fulfilled — the task was completed, by whoever got to it; the row names them
- Declined — the person asked said no
- Cancelled — the person who asked withdrew it
- Expired — a week passed with no answer
Completing the task is what fulfills a request, and it closes every pending request on that task at once — whoever did the completing. A pending request expires on its own after seven days. Either way the task carries on as normal.
Three notifications come from requests, all covered by the single Task requests setting:
- Someone asked you about a task
- A task you asked about was completed — sent once, and not to you if you completed it yourself
- Someone declined a request you sent
Note
Cancelling a request notifies nobody, and neither does an expiry. Nothing chases anyone.
