What is My List?

A shortlist of tasks you want to keep in view. One per person, private to you, and it changes nothing about the tasks on it.

My List is a shortlist of tasks you want to keep in view. It’s a way of saying “these are the ones I have in mind”, without changing anything about the tasks themselves.

There is one list per person. Nothing to create, name, or organize — and no second list.

Putting a task on your list does not:

  • Give it a due date or a deadline
  • Assign it to you, or claim it
  • Change its rhythm or when it next comes up
  • Hide it from anyone else, or make a separate copy of it

The tasks stay exactly the tasks they were. A listed task is still available to everyone in the household, and anyone can complete it.

When a listed task is completed — by you or by anyone else — it comes off My List, and off the lists of anyone else who had it. The task is done, so the shortlist no longer needs it.

Note

Uncompleting a task doesn’t put it back on My List. Add it again if you still want it there.

Tip

My List is intentional focus, not a to-do list to get through. A list of two tasks is as valid as a list of twenty, and an empty one takes up no space.
