Live Activities on iPhone
While tasks are active, iPhone can show them on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
On iPhone, starting a task can put it on your Lock Screen, so what you’re in the middle of is visible without opening the app.
It appears when you start a task, follows along as you start or finish others, and goes away once nothing is active. There is nothing to set up and nothing to dismiss.
On the Lock Screen it shows how many tasks you’ve completed today, then a line for each active task with its room — up to three, with a count of any beyond that.
In the Dynamic Island it collapses to the FreshChores mark and the number of active tasks. Expanded, it shows the same task lines as the Lock Screen.
Completing from the Lock Screen. On iOS 17 and later, each task line has a button that completes it without opening the app. On iOS 16, the lines are shown but aren’t tappable. Tapping anywhere else opens FreshChores.
Live Activities need iOS 16.1 or later. On earlier versions, and on Android and the web, there’s nothing to show — the app behaves the same in every other respect.
Note
This is a view of what you’ve already started, not a notification. It arrives with no sound and no alert, and it reports only your own active tasks.
