How notifications work
Notifications are informational, easy to ignore, and about shared state — not performance or urgency.
Notifications in FreshChores are about shared state. They answer one question: did something change that you might care about?
There are four notification types:
- Household updates — when a household member completes a task
- Daily nudge — a once-a-day reminder when tasks are available
- Added tasks — when new tasks are created in the household
- Member joined — when a new member joins the household
Each type can be toggled on or off independently from notification settings. None are required.
Notifications contain no praise, no urgency, and no performance tracking. They report what happened — nothing more.

Managing notification settings
Each notification type has its own toggle. Some types also have a scope option to filter what's relevant.
Daily nudge
An optional, once-a-day notification sent when tasks are available. Choose a time window that works for your schedule.
Quiet mode
Quiet mode pauses all notifications for a set duration. Settings and toggles are preserved.
What is a household?
A household is a shared space where tasks live and are visible to everyone who belongs.
