Honoring earnings
Honoring a balance records that a member has been compensated. No money moves through FreshChores — it’s a tracking system.
When household members complete tasks with earnings, those earnings accumulate in their balance. Honoring a balance means recording that the member has been compensated — whether that’s cash, a transfer, allowance credit, or anything else your household uses.
FreshChores does not transfer money. It tracks what’s been earned and what’s been settled.
To honor a member’s balance:
- Go to Settings
- Tap Earnings to expand the dropdown
- Tap Member balances
- Tap on a member with an outstanding balance
- Tap Honor Balance
- Optionally add a note (e.g., “Paid cash”)
- Confirm
The member’s balance is reduced by the honored amount. A permanent settlement record is created.
Note
Only owners and managers can honor balances. Members can view their own balance and settlement history from the Completions page.
